Earth Hour 2012 will take place on Saturday, March 31, 20012 at 8:30 pm (local time). For one hour, beginning at 8:30 pm turn off your non-essential lights and appliances. Learn more about Earth Hour here.
Earth Hour events in and around Los Angeles:
Café Sierra: Café Sierra in Universal City will serve an earth-friendly menu of locally grown, sustainable, organic food. The special low carbon menu will be available from March 31st to April 15th. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund for continued support of environmental efforts.
Portfolio Coffeehouse: Portfolio Coffeehouse in Long Beach will operate by candlelight from 8:30-9:30 pm in support of Earth Hour.
Earth Hour from Space: Astronaut André Kuipers will share photos and videos of Earth as the lights go out. Check his blog or follow him on Twitter @Astro_André.
