Full Moon Hike

Join George F Canyon Nature Center guides for a 2 hour/2 mile walk to the top of the canyon for a fantastic view of the city lights below.  Bring a flashlight.  Must be age 9 and up.  Cost is $10 per person.  Reservations required.  Please call the center for exact time: 310-547-0862.

Earth Man Dan Visits the Green Tent at the Mar Vista Farmers Market

Free Concert in the Park: Bella Donna

When: Sunday, September 2, 2012 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Where: Polliwog Park, 1601 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 Map It

Enjoy a Fleetwood Mac cover band concert in the park (Bella Donna performing) at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach. Set up chairs and blankets on the grass, bring a picnic and enjoy an evening of great music. Fresh Brothers pizza and shaved ice are sold in the gazebo, an ice cream truck parks on Manhattan Beach Blvd. Arrive early as street parking and grass space fills up quickly. It can get chilly in the evening as the park is near the ocean. The concert is free, donations are gratefully accepted. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the grassy picnic area where the concert is held but they are allowed in other parts of the park.

Twilight Concert on the Santa Monica Pier

TreePeople offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including tree planting, tree care, mountain restoration, reforestation, park maintenance, seedling nursery, photography. Minors (accompanied by an adult) are welcome. Visit their calendar to select an activity and sign-up by pre-registering. Once you register, TreePeople will contact you with event details and directions.
