Cabaret Confessions of an Eco-Diva

TreePeople Sustainability Weekend

When: Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25, 2012

Where: TreePeople@Coldwater Canyon Park (Saturday) and Natural History Museum (Sunday)

TreePeople and The Natural History Museum are offering two companion workshops on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday, March 25, 2012.  Saturday’s workshop, held at Coldwater Canyon Park, will provide information about how to harvest rainwater.  Sunday’s workshop, held at The Natural History Museum, will focus on things you can do to grow a greener, more sustainable landscape.  Both workshops are free but you must register in advance to attend.  For more information about Saturday’s Rainwater Harvesting Workshop click here.  For information about Sunday’s Sustainable Landscape Workshop click here.

World Water Day Workshop

When: Saturday, March 24, 2012 – 2:00pm – 4:0opm

Where: SM/Westside YMCA, 2019 14th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405

Join Sustainable Works on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 2:00pm – 4:00 pm at the SM/Westside YMCA for a World Water Day Workshop focusing on water issues as they relate to food production.  Workshop will include discussion about environmental problems related to water and food, solutions you can implement, how to start an edible garden, and a raffle for sustainability tools.  Rain barrels will also be available for purchase.  The workshop is free but space is limited – sign up ASAP.  For more information about the World Water Day Workshop click here.

TreePeople offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including tree planting, tree care, mountain restoration, reforestation, park maintenance, seedling nursery, photography. Minors (accompanied by an adult) are welcome. Visit their calendar to select an activity and sign-up by pre-registering. Once you register, TreePeople will contact you with event details and directions.
