Get ready for Coastal Cleanup Day!!  Hosts Micah Ohlman, Megan Henderson, Gayle Anderson, and Henry DiCarlo bring you a preview of Heal the Bay’s Coastal Cleanup Day and environmental concerns on KTLA from 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 8 2012 and 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

 

Rain Barrels From Sustainable Works

When: Order by September 14, 2012 for September 15, 2012 pickup in Santa Monica

This isn’t exactly an event but it’s a great deal!  For $100 you can purchase a rain barrel from Sustainable Works in Santa Monica.  They hold 55 gallons and contain a brass spigot for garden hose attachment.  Note to Santa Monica residents:  The barrels are FREE for Santa Monica residents after receiving a qualifying rebate.  The barrels must be ordered by September 14, 2012 for pickup on September 15, 2012.  For more information and to order visit www.sustainableworks.org/rainbarrels.

Stream Team Restoration at Malibu Creek State Park

TreePeople Events

TreePeople offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including tree planting, tree care, mountain restoration, reforestation, park maintenance, seedling nursery, photography. Minors (accompanied by an adult) are welcome. Visit their calendar to select an activity and sign-up by pre-registering. Once you register, TreePeople will contact you with event details and directions.
